Most young people enjoy drinking alcohol without getting drunk, and it's important to remember this if you feel pressured to compete with your friends. You may feel that it is unfair that your age group is always mentioned by the media for out-of-control consumption. But the truth is that you have a better chance than older age groups of going home with someone you don't know well and/or at all, ending up in bed with someone you'll regret, making a fool of yourself and your friends, or getting robbed.
Here you will find some tips that will help you stay in control and have a good time.
First, we remind you that if you drink:
- You should avoid driving
- You must not move in elevated areas or operate machinery.
- You must not combine alcohol with other substances or medicines. This also applies to medicines you can buy without a prescription such as antihistamines and most cough syrups.
Be equally careful when drinking alcohol during or after sports activities, as you may be dehydrated.
