When you go out to have fun, remember that you have to go home safely; for this reason:

  • Eat something before you go out or during the evening.
  • Try to avoid buying multiple drinks and limit yourself to drinking one type of alcoholic beverage.
  • If you find yourself in a group where you feel others are drinking faster than you or above the recommended limits, don't feel bad about skipping a drink or stopping.
  • Drink water at regular intervals to stay hydrated and fresh.
  • Consume soft drinks in-between to reduce alcohol consumption.
  • Remember that excessive alcohol consumption will not make you pretty and do not be affected by the phenomenon of "beautifying" lenses! You may believe you've met your dream partner... until the illusion dissipates.
  • Do not accept drinks from strangers and never leave your drink unattended. It is very easy for someone to "tamper" with your drink by adding something to it.
  • Plan how to get home before you leave. If you have not specified the driver of the group in advance, make sure you have a cab number with you and that you have enough money with you to get home safely.
  • If you have to walk home, don't go through dark or unsafe places and avoid walking alone.
  • Don't even let your friends wander alone, especially if they've been drinking.
  • Have a condom with you – and insist on using it if necessary.
  • Keep an eye on your friends and make sure they keep an eye on you.
