If despite all the good intentions, you end up drinking too much, there are a few things you could do to feel better the next morning:

  • Drink as much water as you can before you go to sleep. Also, put a glass of water next to your bed.
  • Take an antacid to calm your stomach.
  • Alcohol is a sedative, so tea and coffee can make you feel a little bit “more alive” -but they can also make you dehydrated, so drink plenty of water.
  • Drinking alcohol lowers your blood sugar levels, so eat something as soon as you can. Bananas, cereal, or an egg with bread are good options for the next morning.
  • Spend 48 hours without any alcohol if you've had too much to drink.
